(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of January 30, the Journalists Association - Nghe An Newspaper held a congress for the 2015-2017 term. Attending and directing were Mr. Tran Duy Ngoan, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association; Pham Thi Hong Toan, Editor-in-Chief, Secretary of the Journalists Association, Nghe An Newspaper.

Nghe An Newspaper Association currently has 58 members, an increase of 7 members compared to 2012. During the 2012-2014 term, the activities of Nghe An Newspaper Association took place in conditions that were both favorable and demanding in response to the need to innovate and improve the quality of newspaper publications.

The activities of the Association have thoroughly grasped and closely followed the tasks and work plans of the agency, always aiming at gathering, uniting, and motivating members to promote their responsibilities and creativity, constantly striving to study, practice, and strive to contribute to the successful implementation of the newspaper's political tasks.

The work of fostering political ideology, ethics, and journalism skills is always of interest to the Association. The Editorial Board and the Association focus on reviewing the learning, training, cultivation, and striving, and thereby continuing to foster the political ideology, mettle, will, moral qualities, lifestyle, and responsibility of members. 100% of cadres and members strictly comply with the Press Law, strictly follow the regulations on press activities, propagate in the right direction, do not violate the law, and always maintain the principles and purposes of propaganda, do not deviate from the Party's ideological viewpoints, policies, and guidelines; do not violate professional ethics. Most members are exemplary, steadfast in political courage, lifestyle, and style of a Party journalist, and comply with discipline, internal rules, and regulations of the agency.

Each year, the Association has selected nearly 50 works to participate in the Nghe An Provincial Press Award and the National Press Award. In 2012, Nghe An Newspaper won the Second Prize of the Nghe An Provincial Press Award and in 2013, Nghe An Newspaper won the First Prize of the Nghe An Provincial Press Award and the A Prize of the National Press Award.

At the congress, the Journalists Association and Nghe An Newspaper set out directions, goals and tasks to effectively carry out their tasks in the 2015-2017 term. In particular, the focus is on building a strong Association, a leading force on the province's information front. The Association operates effectively and practically, contributing to the press agency's excellent completion of its tasks. The Association continues to closely follow the direction and guidance of the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association and the agency's political tasks, encouraging cadres and members to unite and strive to improve the quality and effectiveness of professional work, and successfully complete assigned tasks. Continue to foster political ideology, ethics, and journalism skills, and improve the work of building the Association's organization.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Tran Duy Ngoan, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Nghe An Journalists Association acknowledged and praised the positive contributions of the Association and the team of members and reporters of Nghe An Newspaper. He continued to emphasize the important tasks of the Association and hoped that in the coming time, the Association and Nghe An Newspaper would continue to strive and make efforts to fulfill their tasks well and become increasingly stronger to actively contribute to the cause of building Nghe An Newspaper in particular and the journalism of Nghe An province in general.

The Congress of the Nghe An Newspaper Journalists Association elected a Secretariat of 5 comrades. Comrade Tran Van Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, was appointed Secretary of the association.
