(Baonghean.vn) - The price of gasoline, essential goods and consumer services increased along with the price of raw materials, fuel and input materials, pushing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September in Nghe An up 1.35%.

According to the Nghe An Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) in September 2023 increased by 1.35% over the previous month; increased by 5.3% over December 2022 and increased by 5.43% over the same period last year.

Gasoline prices were adjusted three times in a row this month (September 5, September 11, and September 21) due to the impact of world fuel prices; prices of essential consumer goods and services increased following input material prices; and students entering school, causing rents to increase, which were the main reasons for the September CPI increase.

The consumer price index in September 2023 increased by 1.35% over the previous month and by 5.43% over the same period last year. Of the 11 main groups of goods and services, 9 groups had price indexes that increased compared to the previous month: Other goods and services increased by 0.05%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 0.09%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.08%; Transportation increased by 1.17%; Food and catering services increased by 0.68%; Clothing, hats and footwear increased by 0.15%; Housing, electricity, water and construction materials increased by 6.15%; Education increased by 0.46%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.01%. There was 1 group of goods that decreased in price, which was household appliances and appliances, down by 0.12%, and 1 group with an index that remained unchanged compared to the previous month, which was Medicines and medical services.

On average, in the first 9 months of 2023, the consumer price index increased by 3.04% over the same period last year. There were 10 groups of goods that increased, including: Education increased by 11.52%; Beverages and tobacco increased by 5.55%; Food and catering services increased by 4.12%; Clothing, hats and footwear increased by 2.61%; Other goods and services increased by 4.31%; Household equipment and appliances increased by 1.93%; Housing, electricity, water, fuel and Construction materials increased by 5.79%; Culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 1.84%; Medicines and medical services increased by 0.21%; Post and telecommunications increased by 0.24%. There was 1 group of goods that decreased compared to the same period, including: Transportation decreased by 4.25%.

The gold price index in September 2023 increased by 0.54% compared to the previous month, up 9.23% over the same period. The average for the first 9 months of 2023 increased by 2.71% over the same period. Domestic gold prices fluctuated in the same direction as world gold prices.

The US dollar index increased by 0.34% compared to the previous month, down 4.87% compared to the same period. The average for the first 9 months of 2023 decreased by 4.46% compared to the same period.
