(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Statistics Office said that the consumer price index (CPI) in March 2024 decreased by 0.44% compared to the previous month but increased by 6.15% compared to the same period in 2023.
March 2024 is the month after Lunar New Year, so people's demand for shopping and travel decreases, prices of food, groceries, eating out, beverages and public transportation services decrease.
These are the main factors that caused the consumer price index (CPI) in March 2024 in Nghe An to decrease by 0.44% compared to the previous month, but still increase by 6.15% over the same period in 2023.
Seven out of 11 groups of goods and services had a decrease in the consumer price index compared to the previous month: Food and catering services decreased by 1.43%; beverages and tobacco decreased by 0.71%; culture, entertainment and tourism decreased by 0.24%; clothing, hats, shoes and sandals decreased by 0.18%; household equipment and utensils decreased by 0.04%; transportation decreased by 0.04% and post and telecommunications decreased by 0.02%.
