'Rural Road Maintenance' Directive in Anh Son

(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the difficult situation of maintenance and degradation of rural roads, the Standing Committee of Anh Son District Party Committee issued Directive No. 25-CT/HU dated May 28, 2014 on strengthening the management and maintenance of rural roads.The Directive has created positive changes among local officials and people in raising awareness of protecting and using the rural traffic system.

After Directive 25-CT/HU was issued, localities took action with determination to achieve high results.

In Anh Son district, there are over 150km of asphalt roads and 200km of various types of cement concrete roads. From 2012 to this year, communes and towns have invested in nearly 230km of cement concrete roads under the new rural transport program, with the province supporting cement.

With the goal of raising awareness among cadres and people at the grassroots level in proactively managing, protecting, maintaining and repairing the rural traffic system... Directive 25-CT/HU after two years of implementation has achieved remarkable results.

District leaders promptly came down to encourage the movement of rural traffic maintenance at the grassroots level.

After the launching ceremony, all localities maintained regular activities in 21/21 communes and towns, using machinery and human resources to maintain and repair rural roads in the area such as dredging ditches, clearing trees, filling, leveling the ground, and curbs... In 2015 alone, the entire Anh Son district maintained and repaired 448.9 km; cleared 545,000 m2 of trees on both sides of the road. In addition, Anh Son people dredged over 82,000 m3 of ditches and drainage ditches and cleared over 2,500 bridges and drainage culverts.

Through the movement of rural road maintenance, Anh Son district has mobilized a large number of people to donate land for road construction. In 2015, over 72,000m2 of land was voluntarily donated by the people to expand the road; over 4,000m of fences were built, 17,000m of fences of trees or other materials were voluntarily destroyed by the people to expand the road; over 90,000 working days and nearly 8.5 billion VND were contributed to build rural roads.

Thanks to the complete transportation system, people in village 11, Hoa Son commune, have great convenience in transporting rice during the harvest season.

The effectiveness of rural road maintenance in Anh Son has created conditions to change the face of the countryside, contributing to making village roads and alleys cleaner and more beautiful, and creating convenient conditions for people to travel. On the concreted roads, not only can people travel easily, but Anh Son farmers also find it very convenient to transport agricultural products, serving production, contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic development in the area.
