Grade 10 admission from 2025: Localities can choose the form, without multiplying the exam score coefficient
According to new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, from 2025, provinces and cities can choose their own form of admission to public grade 10 — including entrance exams, admission selection, or a combination of both.
If an entrance exam is held, the mandatory exam consists of two subjects: Mathematics and Literature, plus a third subject or a combined exam. The third subject is selected from the subjects that are graded, but cannot be repeated for more than three consecutive years to ensure flexibility and avoid cramming.
Admission scores are calculated based on the total score of three subjects, each subject is calculated on a 10-point scale, without applying coefficients. This helps provinces have a more fair and equal assessment in admissions.
