Chinese navy spokesman Liang Yang confirmed that a fighter jet from the East Sea Fleet crashed into a garment factory in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, during a training mission last night, CRI reported.
The pilot ejected safely and no casualties were reported, Mr. Yang added. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
This is not the first time a fighter jet has crashed in Taizhou. Last November, a Jian-10 crashed during a training exercise near the city, with both pilots parachuting to safety. The Chinese military blamed the incident on the exercise taking place at night.
In 2013, two Chinese military pilots died after their plane crashed during a training exercise in Shandong province.
