Vietnamese warship visits the land of thousands of islands
On November 15, the Vietnamese Navy fleet, including HQ-011 Dinh Tien Hoang and HQ-012 Ly Thai To, concluded its visit and exchange with the Indonesian Navy and armed forces.
During their four days in Jakarta, Vietnamese officers and sailors played football and volleyball, met and visited each other’s ships. Notably, before leaving Indonesian waters, naval ships from both countries conducted a joint search and rescue exercise at sea.
This visit aims to implement agreed initiatives, build trust, enhance friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding and trust between the Vietnam Navy and the Navies of Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines.
This is the first time a Vietnamese Navy ship has visited many countries in one voyage. The fleet of 228 officers and sailors is led by Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Kiem, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy. In addition, the visit also responds to the visits to Vietnam by naval ships of the three countries mentioned above.
According to the visit program, officers and sailors of ships HQ-011 and HQ-012 will participate in sports activities, greet representatives of the navies, armies and local authorities of the countries, and participate in a number of other activities.
