Russian soldier tells how Ukraine turned Kharkov psychiatric hospital into a stronghold
The Ukrainian military turned the building of the Kharkov regional psychiatric hospital in the village of Strelechya into a stronghold and during the retreat they destroyed the building, said a motorized rifleman of the Northern Group of Forces under the nickname “Hunter”, who took part in the liberation of this settlement.
“Hunter” said that the Ukrainian army has arranged ammunition and food depots in the hospital, and also has sleeping quarters for staff.

“The Ukrainian army was retreating from the stronghold located in this hospital. The domesticated cats and dogs were left in a weapons cache, and the weapons were detonated with portable gas cylinders. All the animals died,” Hunter said.
According to this soldier, there are fortifications made of sandbags in the building.
“Hunter” recounts that this was not the first time this building was used for military purposes. When the German invaders occupied the village of Strelechya in November 1941, they robbed the psychiatric hospital of its food supplies, and then a Nazi detachment arrived there, and according to historical information, they killed all the doctors and patients there.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Northern Army Group had liberated the village of Strelechya on May 11.
