PV:So how is the work to repair the damage caused by storms to the current power grids, sir?

Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien:Before and during the recent stormy days, Nghe An Electricity Company arranged 24/7 on-call duty to promptly handle situations, ensuring power supply and absolute safety for the unit's workforce, power grid assets, projects and people.

After the storm, Nghe An Electricity Company mobilized materials, equipment, and concentrated all human resources to fix the power grid problems caused by the storm, restoring power supply to customers as soon as possible. In addition to mobilizing 100% of the industry's workforce, the Company also mobilized 30 other construction units to fix the power grid problems in the whole province.

By the morning of July 18, 70 out of 115 affected medium voltage lines had been energized. We are trying to basically energize the medium voltage lines in the afternoon of July 18.

Today, localities such as Cua Lo, Nghi Loc, Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu... have turned on electricity, People's Committees of districts, cities, towns, hospitals, and anti-flooding pumping stations have all restored electricity and are operating normally.

In the immediate future, the electricity sector will focus on repairing medium-voltage lines and renovating and repairing low-voltage lines. Regarding repairing low-voltage lines, it is necessary to review locations in residential areas and pay close attention to electrical safety issues when restoring power. Caution must be taken when preventing accidents.

PV:What recommendations do you have for localities and people in overcoming and using electricity during the rainy and stormy season?

Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien:Currently, the electricity sector is focusing human and material resources to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 2, quickly reconnecting power, providing electricity for people's daily life and production. During the process of overcoming and repairing, it is recommended that the People's Committees of districts and communes coordinate with Nghe An Electricity Company to clear the land, support the clearance of corridors to help soon complete the power system and restore power to the people.

During floods, people should try to stay away from medium voltage lines and not stand near the lines to avoid the risk of wind gusts, falling trees causing broken wires and falling electric poles, which can cause accidents. When an incident occurs, it is necessary to quickly report to the nearest power company to isolate the source and prevent electric leakage that can endanger repair workers. Do not attempt to repair yourself as this can easily lead to accidents.

PV:Thank you!
