(Baongheann.vn)- Creating a fake police cover with blue pants and a photocopy of the 'Emergency Arrest Warrant' and 'Work Report', Hieu embezzled money from a creditor and used the money to pay his debt.

On June 6, the behavior of Nguyen Van Hieu, residing in Hamlet 3, Thanh Duc Commune, Thanh Chuong District, was brought to trial by the People's Court of Thanh Chuong District.

Hieu's victim was Mrs. Vinh's family, who was scammed out of 23 million VND.

The content of the case stated: At about 10:30 a.m. on April 7, 2017, Nguyen Van Hieu came to drink water at Mrs. Dang Thi Vinh's shop (residing in Hamlet 11, Thanh My Commune, Thanh Chuong District). Mrs. Vinh saw Hieu wearing blue pants, thinking Hieu was a police officer, so she told Hieu about her family's bankruptcy and that many people owed her family but did not pay. After that, Mrs. Vinh asked Hieu to help her family resolve the debt and she would repay him.

Seeing that, Hieu had the idea of impersonating a police officer to collect debt to seize property of Mrs. Vinh's family. Hieu told Mrs. Vinh to get the loan documents to settle the matter. Mrs. Vinh gave Hieu the loan documents and an envelope containing 3 million VND. Hieu wrote down Mrs. Vinh's phone number, then took the money and documents and left.

At around 11am on April 8, Hieu went to Mrs. Vinh's house. Mr. Nguyen Gia Thang - Mrs. Vinh's husband continued to give Hieu 2 debt papers asking Hieu to help him. Hieu told Mrs. Vinh that she had 7 people to file for. Mrs. Vinh gave Hieu 23 million VND, of which 15 million VND was the cost of processing the file for her to transfer to the province.

At around 9:00 a.m. on April 9, Hieu met and used the money he had just appropriated from Mrs. Vinh's family to pay off a debt of 10 million VND to Mr. Nguyen Dang Long (born in 1984), residing in Hamlet 5A, Hanh Lam Commune, Thanh Chuong District. At around 4:00 p.m. on April 9, Mrs. Vinh asked Hieu to come to her house to talk.

On the way to Mrs. Vinh's house, Hieu went to a photocopy shop located in Lien Chung hamlet, Phong Thinh commune, Thanh Chuong district, and hired a printer to type 06 "Emergency Arrest Warrant" forms and 05 "Working Minutes" forms. Then, Hieu signed "Hung" in the "Team Leader" signature section on a copy of the "Emergency Arrest Warrant" to create trust for Mrs. Vinh's family.

When arriving at Mrs. Vinh’s house, Hieu left the newly typed documents on the table. Mr. Thang looked at the “Emergency Arrest Warrant” and saw that it had a signature but no stamp, so he asked Hieu, who replied that the stamp was in the trunk of his motorbike.

Mrs. Vinh suspected Hieu of deceiving her family, so she called the Thanh My Commune Police Department. However, Hieu crumpled up the documents, threw them behind Mrs. Vinh's house, and ran away.

A moment later, when Hieu returned to get his motorbike, Thanh My commune police made a record of the incident, confiscated related evidence, and asked Nguyen Van Hieu to return to the headquarters for questioning.

On April 11, the Thanh Chuong District Police Department issued an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Van Hieu and the amount of 18,150,000 VND on him. Hieu stated that 16 million VND belonged to Ms. Vinh.

Based on evidence at the trial, Thanh Chuong District People's Court sentenced Nguyen Van Hieu to 24 months in prison./.
