This morning, the candidates attended10th grade entrance exam- Vinh University High School for the Gifted went to the examination rooms to complete the examination procedures and listen to the regulations for this year's examination.

At the two examination sites of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the examination council met this morning to discuss the implementation of the examination. Candidates will be free to come and see their registration numbers, examination rooms and prepare for the examination taking place this afternoon.

Teacher Ngo Sy Thuy - Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted said: This year, the school has about 1,500 candidates taking the exam for 11 specialized classes. To prepare for this exam, we have mobilized 180 teachers and staff to work as invigilators and at the exam sites. The whole school will have nearly 70 exam rooms at both exam sites, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Huynh Thuc Khang High School.

At Vinh University High School for the Gifted, with more than 2,100 candidates registering for both exams (entrance to specialized schools and entrance to high-quality programs), this is the exam with the largest number of candidates. Of these, according to the school's statistics, about 30% of candidates come from schools in Ha Tinh province.

Student Ho Tran Nam Phong - Albert Einstein High School - Ha Tinh said: "In addition to Ha Tinh High School, this year I registered for the English specialized class of Vinh University High School for the Gifted to increase my chances of being admitted. Personally, although I did quite well on the 10th grade entrance exam, I am still worried because this year there are a large number of candidates taking the exam and the quality of the candidates is even. I also have priority thanks to winning the Encouragement Prize at the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, but the bonus points are not much, so I have to really try hard."

On the morning of June 10, in addition to students, hundreds of parents also brought their children to the exam. After a difficult school year, combined with the pressure of a "sudden" increase in the number of candidates, many parents could not help but worry.

Mr. Tran Huu Nghi (Hung Binh ward - Vinh city) shared: "My daughter is taking the exam for the Chemistry specialized class this year and she is really under pressure. The other day, when she saw the number of candidates registering for the exam and saw the high competition rate, she was worried for several days. Indeed, this year I see that the students born in 2007 are having a hard time because the number of candidates taking the exam is too large."

Sharing the same sentiment, Ms. Tran Thi Nga - Doi Cung ward said: My child registered for the high-quality program and took two subjects, Math and English, so the exam schedule is quite tight. However, in the current situation, we have to take the exam because one more school is one more opportunity. A few days ago, my child took the exam to enter the public 10th grade, but the result was not as expected.

The entrance exam to specialized schools is also an opportunity for candidates to evaluate their own abilities. For that reason, while in the 10th grade entrance exam, students mainly take the exam in their locality, in the specialized exam, there are quite a few students from district schools participating in the exam.

Mr. Hoang Van Dong - living in Thanh Linh commune, Thanh Chuong has a rather austere appearance. When his son entered the room to do the procedures, he stood alone in the school yard, looking inside, holding a Chemistry review book in his hand. This father also said: "My family has five children, both husband and wife work in the fields so they don't study much. Of the five children, only the youngest son is a good student, he won the Encouragement Prize at the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, so when he wishes to take the exam to enter a specialized school, the family still tries to create conditions. If he passes, even though he has to study far from home, rent a house which is expensive, we still try to let him study well."

Although there are many new features in the entrance exam for specialized schools, according to Vinh University High School for the Gifted, the number of "virtual" candidates will not be many and candidates will choose the appropriate school based on their abilities. The percentage of candidates taking the exam in previous years was also about 90%.

Talking about this year's exam, Dr. Hoang Vinh Phu - Head of Education and Training Department, Vinh University said: I think that the level of competition to get into Vinh University High School for the Gifted will be higher than last year because the number of candidates taking the exam has increased but the admission quota for the school has decreased by 50 students compared to previous years. However, if candidates fail to get into the gifted school, they may have the opportunity to get into high-quality classes, so students should be calm and confident when taking the test.

The entrance exam for specialized schools is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on June 10 and candidates will complete the exam after 150 minutes. Preparations for the exam have been completed by the examination councils and they are ready to welcome candidates to take the exam.
