Chill with taste
If you're too tired, take a break, chill just enough, like a gentle comma in the middle of a long essay of life, don't turn chill into a full stop.
Chill with taste is an inspiring phrase that I recently heard in a famous podcast of a media unit. The person who defined chill with taste is Mr. Hoang Nam Tien - Vice Chairman of the Board of FPT University. After listening, observing, and thinking more about the young people around me, I realized many things...
Chill is an English noun, meaning cold, indifferent; however, in everyday context, young people today often use chill to express relaxation, leisure, release, and put aside all worries. Chill appears in many situations: "The scenery here is so chill!"; "So tired, let's chill to heal!"; "Chill corner every morning"; "Just chill, don't think too much"; "Life is so short, let's chill"...

There is nothing wrong with chilling, when in the hustle and bustle of life with so much pressure from studying and working, people need to be released, to focus on taking care of the "inner child" more, to find balance in the mind. Chill a little to recharge the energy, to continue entering the reality of making a living. Chill just enough to learn how to love yourself, to caress, comfort, and soothe the hurts and stumbles on the road of life. Chill is like a gentle break on a long journey, a quiet time to recognize the past and determine the next direction for the future.
But no matter how chill you are, you must always remember that chill is not the purpose of life. In reality, today, a part of young people are immersed in chill: living carefree to the point of being emotionless, living mediocrely without thinking about tomorrow, living contentedly with a limited reality without the motivation to improve, living selfishly for themselves without wanting to be entangled in anything... Chill is not an excuse for young people to lie lazily in bed all day, not bothering to do housework, being indifferent to the injustices of society, surfing TikTok, Facebook for hours, taking hundreds of photos and spending their youth editing colors, posing, posting online to get likes for virtual life. Chill is also not an excuse to "At worst, I'll go back to the countryside/ I'll raise fish and grow vegetables"..., whenever encountering obstacles and difficulties in studying or working, they come up with the idea of giving up, going back to their foster mother's house, eating 3 meals a day, wearing clothes all day, living a leisurely and boring life, not contributing any value to society. Chill is not about letting yourself drift freely, having the mindset of "live or die, let it be", going wherever comes.
Any young person who is still chilling like that should wake up, stand up immediately, find a book to read, find a job to do, people must live with work - manual labor is fine but intellectual labor is also good. If you are too tired, take a break, chill just enough, like a gentle comma in the middle of a long essay of life, don't turn chill into a full stop.

Back to the inspirational phrase: Chill with taste. Speaker Hoang Nam Tien cited examples of chill with taste that he greatly admired. A group of students spent their weekends doing charity projects: mobilizing book donations for highland villages; teaching literacy to homeless children; helping at orphanages... There are young people who contribute to community projects with their own expertise, abilities, and strengths, such as drawing models for craft groups for the disabled, consulting on tree planting and afforestation in the "Green Living" project, practicing the hashtag "10 days of house cleaning" or "1 month reading 5 books"... When putting themselves into activities separate from the rhythm of everyday life, young people find themselves relieved of pressure, less stressed, and the feeling of usefulness from their small actions will give you a rare satisfaction and peace, helping you look deeply into your ego, understand who you are, what you need, and what you can do to make this life more beautiful. That is chill with taste, chill with utility, chill with value.
Chill without taste and chill with taste are both chill but different in the choices. No one has the right to judge your life but no one can help you live your life well, so how your life will be, how good or bad, success or failure, all depends on your choice. Therefore, before chilling, you should pause for a second, to confirm with yourself that it is the right choice for your life!
