Ship sinks in Türkiye, more than 30 immigrants dead and missing

At least 24 migrants drowned and nine others are missing after a boat sank on November 3 in the Bosphorus Strait in Türkiye. Authorities rescued seven people.

NTV and local news sites said the boat carrying about 40 illegal immigrants had an accident after leaving the fishing village of Rumeli Kavagi north of Istanbul, near the Black Sea.

The boat carrying migrants from Afghanistan, including nearly 20 women and children, was en route to Romania, sources said.

Türkiye is also one of the stops for illegal immigrants from Africa and the Middle East who want to go to Europe in search of a better life./.
