Consecutive boat sinkings in Indonesia, at least 25 people dead
At least 25 people have died in Indonesia after two consecutive boat sinkings this week, Indonesian officials said on July 31.

On Tuesday - July 29, a ferry carrying 70 passengers sank in Kalimantan island, Indonesia. Local media reported that some people swam to shore, however, 18 people were still killed.
On Wednesday - July 30, a ferry carrying 48 passengers on the river sank in the North of Sumatra island, leaving 7 people dead and 13 missing.
Police suspect that the two ferries may have been overloaded with passengers, leading to the unfortunate accidents.
This is the busiest travel period of the year in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, when most Muslims leave the big cities and return to their rural hometowns to celebrate with their families.
