The Government issued new regulations on standards and norms for car use.
The Government has just issued Decree 72/2023/ND-CP regulating standards and norms for car use; allocating funds for car use; renting car services and rearranging and handling cars, including: cars for official positions, general work, specialized use, and state reception services.
Different from previous regulations, Decree 72/2023/ND-CP clearly states regulations on adjusting the purchase price of public cars when the market fluctuates.
Specifically, in case after 01 year from the effective date of this Decree, the price of automobiles on the market fluctuates and increases, ministries, central agencies, Standing Committees of Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities, Board of Members, Board of Directors of economic groups shall consider and decide on a higher purchase price of automobiles, but the increase shall not exceed 15% compared to the prescribed price.
When the common car prices on the market increase or decrease by more than 15% compared to the prices prescribed in this Decree, the Minister of Finance shall submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision to adjust the car purchase prices prescribed in this Decree accordingly.
The Decree also stipulates the increase in car purchase prices. Accordingly, the group of positions that are allowed to regularly use a public car during their working time is divided into three levels below with three car purchase prices of 1.5, - 1.55 - 1.6 billion VND/car, instead of the previous regulation of only one level of 1.1 billion VND/car.
