The government completely stopped the export of iron ore.
The Government has directed to completely stop or not export 9 types of minerals that are raw materials for many industries.
In Directive No. 02/CT-TTg, the Government clearly announced the policy of exploration, exploitation and export of a number of important minerals.
For coal:Licenses for exploration and exploitation will only be continued according to the plan. Investment in renovating and expanding a number of coal mines in the Quang Ninh region will be accompanied by environmental restoration and regeneration. Consider selecting appropriate technology for pilot exploitation in a number of areas in the Red River coal basin, on that basis, propose a solution for the overall exploitation of the coal basin after 2020.
For bauxite ore:Only implement the two mining projects of Tan Rai and Nhan Co in service of the two alumina production projects in Lam Dong and Dak Nong. Do not implement other projects when the two above mentioned projects have not yet come into operation and their socio-economic efficiency has not been evaluated. Do not grant exploration licenses for bauxite ore in the northern provinces.
The government has ordered a complete halt to iron ore exports.Organize the effective exploitation of the Thach Khe iron mine project and other iron ore mining projects to serve domestic iron and steel production facilities. For mines in operation, if efficiency and environmental requirements are not ensured, there must be a plan to close the mine and restore the soil.
No new exploration and exploitation licenses are granted for placer titanium ore.For mines in operation, if environmental protection is not ensured, the license will be revoked.
