For the first time, the Government invited General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to attend and give a speech at an online conference held at the end of December.
On the afternoon of December 14, Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said that the Government is currently preparing to organizeThe expanded conference with localities at the end of December. This is the regular December meeting of the Government and is organized in the form of an online conference, with the bridgehead being provinces and cities nationwide.
"In particular, at the Government-locality conference in December this year, we respectfully invite General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to attend and give instructions. This is something that the Government as well as the government system at all levels are looking forward to," said Mr. Mai Tien Dung.

Responding to a question about the unprecedented number of years in which the General Secretary attended and gave instructions at a Government Conference with localities, Mr. Mai Tien Dung said the above Conference is very important.
According to Mr. Dung, over the past year, the GovernmentImplementing and concretizing the resolutions of the Central Committee and the National Assembly, the achievements are the contributions of the entire political system, people and businesses, party organizations, cadres, party members... nationwide.
"The Government is honored to have the General Secretary attend the conference to review the implementation of the resolution after one year, so that the General Secretary can give instructions from the head of the Party to ministries, branches and localities, promote the good aspects, overcome the shortcomings,such as status"Hot on top, cold on bottom, top moving, bottom not moving...", Mr. Dung said.

Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Van Nen confirmed the Government's invitation to the General Secretary to attend the above-mentioned Conference, and said that this will be decided by the General Secretary.
According to the provisions of the Law on Government Organization, the President has the right to attend Government meetings. In addition,The Government invites the Chairman of the National Assembly's Council of Nationalities to attend Government meetings when discussing the implementation of ethnic policies. When promulgating regulations to implement ethnic policies, the Government must seek the opinion of the National Assembly's Council of Nationalities. The Law also stipulates that the Government invites the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the heads of central agencies of socio-political organizations to attend Government meetings when discussing relevant issues. |
