On January 20, Phnom Penh City Hall officials said they would severely punish anti-government protests that violate the ban imposed by the Cambodian government.
Phnom Penh Deputy Mayor Khuong Sreng announced that the ban on protests and gatherings must be strictly followed to ensure security, political and social stability in the capital Phnom Penh.
