According to the newspaper, in April 2015, the head of the Presidential Administration was handed documents by the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) containing secret information about candidates for the post of director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
According to “Ukraine News”, in December 2018, the special services asked officials to confirm the presence of these documents.
One of the documents was not registered and in January the SBU began investigating the loss.
A pre-trial investigation found that "unidentified persons" had lost documents containing state secrets and violated paperwork handling procedures.
It should be noted that the lost document "may be used as evidence of important facts and circumstances in criminal proceedings, especially those relating to crimes".
