Official announcement of regulations for national high school graduation exam 2015

February 27, 2015 07:09

On the evening of February 26, the Ministry of Education and Training officially announced the regulations for the 2015 national high school graduation exam with many changes compared to the previous draft.

Not yet converted to 20 point scale

The Ministry of Education and Training decided to keep the 10-point scale as usual instead of switching to a 20-point scale as previously planned.

Specifically, the test is graded on a 10-point scale, up to 0.25 points, and is not rounded up. For multiple-choice subjects, the grading team will grade and convert the scores by computer to a 10-point scale (up to 0.25 points) for each multiple-choice test.

Can take high school graduation exam

According to the Ministry's regulations, the 2015 high school graduation exam will have two types of exam clusters.

Exam cluster for candidates taking the exam for high school graduation recognition and university and college admission: Exams are organized for candidates from at least two provinces and centrally-run cities (collectively referred to as provinces), chaired by the university, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training.

The examination cluster for candidates taking the exam to be considered for recognition of high school graduation is organized at the school or inter-school level of the province, chaired by the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with the university.

Each examination council has its own code and is unified nationwide. At each examination council, the list of all candidates taking the exam is made in the order of a, b, c,... candidate names to assign registration numbers and according to the order of each subject to arrange exam rooms.

Each candidate has a unique registration number. The candidate's registration number consists of a letter part which is the examination council's code and a 6-digit number part which is numbered in increasing order until the number of candidates in the examination council is exhausted, ensuring that no candidate in the examination council has the same registration number.

Each examination room has a maximum of 40 candidates; the minimum distance between two candidates sitting next to each other in a row must be 1.2 meters. The last examination room of each subject can accommodate up to 45 candidates; the last examination room of the Foreign Language exam (in the same examination location) can accommodate candidates taking different Foreign Language exams, but the papers must be collected separately by subject.

Registration deadline is April 30

The deadline for receiving registration documents is before April 30 every year. When the deadline for submitting registration documents expires, if any mistakes or errors are discovered, candidates must promptly notify the Principal of the high school or the Head of the unit where they registered for the exam or the Examination Council on the day of completing the exam procedures for correction or supplementation.

Special cases are allowed to add certificates to enjoy priority and bonus points. They must be done before the exam date to be valid.
