Official establishment of Vietnam Airports Corporation
On February 18, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang officially announced the decision to establish Vietnam Airports Corporation.

Minister Dinh La Thang presented the decision to establish Vietnam Airports Corporation and the positions in the Corporation's board of members.
Vietnam Airports Corporation was formed on the basis of merging 3 Corporations: Northern Airports, Southern Airports and Central Airports. Vietnam Airports Corporation, abbreviated as ACV, is organized and operates according to the parent company - subsidiary model and is headquartered at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ward 2, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
The type of enterprise is a limited liability company with 100% state-owned charter capital. The Corporation has 21 dependent accounting units which are branches of Airport Corporations in localities. There are 7 subsidiaries and 2 associated companies.
Based on the decision to establish Vietnam Airports Corporation, the Minister of Transport also appointed the positions of the Board of Members of Vietnam Airports Corporation. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Hung, former General Director of Southern Airports, holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Airports Corporation, and Mr. Le Manh Hung, former General Director of Northern Airports, holds the position of General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dinh La Thang emphasized that the merger of the three regional Airport Corporations to form the Vietnam Airport Corporation is an inevitable trend for the development of Vietnam Aviation, towards the establishment of a national aviation group.
The Minister requested the Corporation to urgently develop the Corporation's charter of organization and operations and financial regulations; the restructuring of the apparatus must not affect the current production and business activities of the Airports and must ensure that the lives of staff are equal to or higher than before. The Corporation's development strategy must be until 2020 and vision to 2030.
In the immediate future, the Corporation will urgently complete investment in new airports such as Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Terminal T2 of Noi Bai airport... The long-term direction of the Corporation is to equitize member units, calling for many domestic and foreign resources to invest in civil aviation infrastructure.
