French politician warns EU is 'dragging us into a mad race'
The European Union does not want to achieve peace in Ukraine, the leader of the French political party "Patriots" Florian Philippot said on the social network X.

"The EU is breaking its own treaties and wants to drag us into a mad race towards war!", wrote Florian Philippot.
Philippot added that the EU should be disbanded, as it boycotts peace initiatives by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Earlier, an EU source, speaking to journalists, did not rule out the possibility that Orban could start a discussion of his peace plan for Ukraine at the European Political Community Summit in the UK. He also suggested that the Hungarian Prime Minister could publicly put forward proposals to discuss other initiatives besides the so-called “Zelensky peace plan”.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, promised in her election program to turn the European Union into a defense union.
