Speaking live on Inter Vizor's Youtube channel, Evgeny Balitsky, Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament, said that Kiev will never succeed in taking back Crimea and Donbass because the people here hate politicians.

MP Balitsky has been highly critical of the 2014 coup, while in Kiev it was called a “revolution of dignity”. According to him, after those events, Kiev “went around Europe naked and begging”.

The Ukrainian politician noted that those whom Kiev calls separatists are also Ukrainians. However, Balitsky asserted: "Neither Crimea nor Donbass will ever return to us."

According to Mr. Balitsky, the Minsk Agreements are necessary to buy time and adjust the terms of peace. The politician supports the withdrawal of troops and the end of the conflict, because the return of Donbass to Ukraine in any case is "impossible". Explaining his certainty, Mr. Balitsky said that he is in constant contact with Crimea and the people of the Lugansk and Donetsk Republics.

"The people there hate us. After they were killed, they remember vividly how Ukrainian shells flew towards them," said MP Balitsky, who hopes that the Ukrainian government will "forget forever about the lost territory" and incorporate these historical events into the framework of Ukrainian law.

Crimea joined Russia after a referendum held in March 2014, in which 96.77% of voters in the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of voters in Sevastopol voted in favor. Previously, the Crimean authorities held a referendum after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014.

Russian officials have repeatedly stated that the annexation of Crimea was carried out democratically, in full compliance with international law and the United Nations Charter. Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the Crimea issue is "completely closed."
