Have a peaceful New Year's Eve
(Baonghean.vn) -Every year, silently standing among the bustling crowds, in their solemn uniforms, are still the officers and soldiers of the Vinh City Traffic Police. A year full of hardship, New Year's Eve is still not leisurely just because of the task of keeping the city peaceful.
On the New Year's Eve of the Year of the Snake, join them to understand more about the people who are known as "guarding the road". Incense has spread throughout every house in every hour leading up to the sacred moment, sending off the Year of the Dragon and welcoming the Year of the Snake with so much hope and joy. To have a peaceful New Year's Eve for the city along the Lam River, the entire city police force with more than 150 officers and soldiers were present on all roads, with 49 people from the Traffic Police team alone. If counting officers and soldiers from departments of the Provincial Police, the civil defense force..., there were nearly 1,300 police officers who did not celebrate New Year's Eve with their families in the sacred moment to have a complete New Year's Eve with every citizen of the city.
Captain Nguyen Van Son and Lieutenant Tran Xuan Ngan are on duty to ensure traffic on New Year's Eve at the checkpoint in front of Ho Chi Minh Square.
At the checkpoint in front of Ho Chi Minh Square is a team of 3 people from the city's traffic police. The walkie-talkie of Captain Nguyen Van Son, the team leader, rings continuously. He said; "At this hour (11pm), the number of people pouring into the Square area is not yet crowded, so we still allow motorbikes and cars to circulate normally. Later, when the New Year's Eve is near, the number of vehicles will increase dramatically, the brothers at the checkpoints must have a plan to separate traffic flows and routes from afar to avoid congestion". At first, the area where the officers are blocking the checkpoint, the number of people gradually poured in, Captain Nguyen Van Son had to run out to regulate the flow of people. Captain Son is from Nghi An, for 15 years now his wife has been used to waiting for her husband on duty during Tet after each New Year's Eve, so she is no longer sad when her husband is absent when lighting incense on the altar at the moment of changing watches. As for Senior Lieutenant Tran Xuan Ngan, who is in the same team as him, it is different. Ngan's wife is in the same industry, an officer in the PC64 department (Nghe An Public Security). This New Year's Eve, both husband and wife were on duty, so the couple's first child had to be sent to his grandparents, while his hometown was in Quynh Luu. The city's traffic police team's Tet duty schedule is one year apart, with priority given to those who live more than 50km away, and 100% of the staff is always on duty. Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Sy Son, deputy head of the city police, and Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Duy Ha, captain of the traffic police team, are the ones who constantly run back and forth to check the checkpoints, so it's even harder. Stretching out on New Year's Eve, at all the intersections with green and red lights, on the streets there is no shortage of police officers.

The job of the police officers on duty during Tet is to only return home when there are no more people on the road. That means when they return to their units, the city has entered a new year, the police officers have taken on a part of the loss for the city's peace./.
