The upstream wharf, Ban Ve Hydroelectric Reservoir (Yen Na Commune, Tuong Duong), is located on an important route leading to Nhon Mai, Mai Son, Luong Minh Communes, etc., so the number of people passing through the wharf is very high. Many people gather at the wharf to exchange and buy and sell all kinds of goods, making this place a "floating market" on the lake. This is considered a wholesale market for many communes in the area, because goods are gathered at the "floating market" and then sold to traders going to other regions.
Here, there are all kinds of goods, from clothes, shoes, tables and chairs to food items... The villagers go to the "market" to sell agricultural products, livestock, poultry, and fruits harvested from the forest. Ms. Lo Thi Hoan, the owner of the "floating market" said that the goods the villagers sell are very popular, especially delicious fish such as catfish and catfish.
Recently, bo bo fruit is the most traded commodity in the floating market. Thanks to the advantage of development potential, people in the communes of Luong Minh, Nhon Mai, Mai Son... have harvested a lot of seeds from bo bo trees and sold them. Every day, tons of bo bo seeds are sold. The price of this item has also increased rapidly. A trader said that last year and at the beginning of this season, the purchase price was 22,000 VND/1kg of dried bo bo seeds, however, now it is 27,000 VND.
In the morning, from 7am to 10am, is when the market is most crowded. This is when people in the lake come back from fishing and bring their catch to the market to sell. Every day, hundreds of boats (small ones, used for fishing) come to the "floating market" to sell fish...
