At 5am on the eve of Tet At Mui 2015, from Vinh City, trucks full of Tet gifts from Nghe An Border Guards hurriedly marched to the border to give gifts to ethnic people in the three communes of Bac Ly, Ky Son district, Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district and Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district.

The first destination of the delegation was Bac Ly border commune, one of the poor communes of Ky Son district. While waiting for people to come to the commune center to receive Tet gifts, we visited the family of Mr. Moong Pho Keo, in Huoi Cang 1 village, in a new house that still smells of wood, where 3 generations of 9 members of Mr. Keo's family live. The house was completed thanks to the program to help build houses for poor households on the border of Nghe An Border Guard. Although 63 years old, this year, Mr. Keo's family has the joy of living in a new, spacious house, with everything covered from top to bottom. He said emotionally: This year, we have a new house, and there is more rice than every year. The family will make pigs to celebrate the new house, thank the people in the village and the Border Guard...

Up to now, in Bac Ly commune, Nghe An Border Guard has supported the construction of 2 new houses (each house worth 40 million VND) and repaired 6 other houses for families with housing difficulties under the program to help poor communes of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee. This Tet, officers and soldiers also presented 100 gifts and 6 savings books, with a total value of 80 million VND to poor people in 13 villages in the commune. Holding a savings book worth 5 million VND, Ms. Xeo Thi An, in Phia Kham 2 village, emotionally said: I am a single person, without husband or children, working hard for many years but still have no money to save for old age, being given a savings book by the Border Guard, I thank the soldiers very much...

For households in remote villages who are unable to come to receive gifts, the Provincial Border Guard Command assigned the responsibility to My Ly Border Guard Station to deliver gifts to each family, each gift worth 500,000 VND, including fish sauce, MSG, candy and 400,000 VND in cash. Lieutenant Colonel Le Nhu Cuong, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Provincial Border Guard, said: Because ethnic minorities on the border live in remote villages and do not have the conditions to travel, in order to create favorable conditions for the people, officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard have chosen the most practical gifts such as fish sauce, MSG, candy and cash to give to the people, with the wish that the people have a warm and happy Tet At Mui, showing the gratitude of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard to the people on the border.
