(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 29, the Provincial People's Committee held an extraordinary meeting to listen to and give opinions on a separate mechanism to support projects invested by Hoa Sen Group in the Southeast Economic Zone. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Attending the event were comrades: Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments and branches: Provincial People's Committee Office, Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Planning and Investment, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment, Finance, Provincial Tax Department, Provincial Customs.

Currently, Hoa Sen Group is implementing 2 projects with a total investment of over 7,400 billion VND. Of which, the Hoa Sen Nghe An steel sheet factory project in Nam Cam Industrial Park has an investment capital of 2,682 billion VND, has been inaugurated and put into operation in phase 1. Hoa Sen Nghe An factory in Dong Hoi Industrial Park has a total investment capital of 3,755 billion VND. Currently, Hoa Sen Group's projects in Dong Nam Economic Zone are enjoying a corporate income tax rate of 10% for 15 years from the date the project goes into production and business; corporate income tax exemption for 4 years from the date of taxable income; 50% reduction in corporate income tax payable for the next 9 years. Enterprises are also exempted from import tax on machinery, equipment, raw materials, supplies, and components for a period of 5 years; and land rent exemption for 11 years.

Comrade Nguyen Quang Trach - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee said that it is necessary to study and classify policies. Any policy under the authority of the province should be resolved by the province, and any policy under the authority of ministries and branches should be proposed and submitted for comments.

In addition, based on Decision 02/2010 of the Provincial People's Committee on a number of preferential investment policies in the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone, Hoa Sen Group's projects enjoy a number of incentives, partial financial support for site clearance, and vocational training support for workers.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong stated that the projects being invested by Hoa Sen Group are currently enjoying preferential policies from the Central Government. Regarding the 7 incentive proposals of investors including incentives on corporate income tax, incentives on personal income tax, incentives on import tax, incentives on land and water surface, incentives on water resource tax, incentives on compensation, site clearance and resettlement, and support for human resource training, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong assigned responsibilities to relevant sectors such as the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, the Provincial Customs Department, and the Provincial Tax Department based on the regulations of the Central Government and the province to have a written report to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and immediately respond to Hoa Sen Group.
