On the morning of December 11, at the Ho Chi Minh City Command Headquarters, President Tran Dai Quang and the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation met with voters of the armed forces in Ho Chi Minh City, reported on the results of the second session of the 14th National Assembly; At the same time, met, listened to the thoughts and aspirations and encouraged officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces to be ready to receive and excellently complete all assigned tasks.

Voters raised many opinions on issues such as the issue of building defense zones; ineffective implementation projects, causing great losses to the State; slow issuance of legal documents; Party building and force building; manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; the emergence of many new types of crimes, especially high-tech crimes, drug crimes and arguments demanding "depoliticization" of the people's armed forces...

At the beginning of the meeting with voters, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Tran Dai Quang sent his warmest greetings, warmest feelings and best wishes to the voters of the People's Armed Forces in Ho Chi Minh City and the officers and soldiers of the People's Army and People's Public Security Forces nationwide on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Resistance Day and towards the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

Responding to voters' opinions and recommendations, the President said that the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation is posing new requirements, requiring the people's armed forces to be well prepared in all aspects, ready to fight, and firmly protect the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland in any situation.

The key goal of national defense and security is to strongly promote the combined strength of the entire nation and the entire political system, maximize the consensus and support of the international community, resolutely and persistently fight to firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, protect the Party, State, people and socialist regime.

The President said that it is necessary to clearly perceive that this is an important and regular task of the Party, the State, the entire political system and the entire people, in which the People's Army and the People's Public Security are the core.

Regarding the complicated development of crime, to improve the quality and effectiveness of the fight against crime, the President said it is necessary to promote the combined strength of the political system to participate in the fight against crime.

At the same time, continuously launch high points of attack and crime suppression. Regularly review and promptly detect criminal gangs to proactively have plans to prevent and combat, not allowing the formation of criminal gangs of any scale.

The President agreed with voters that in projects, it is necessary to create conditions for people and the press to monitor and promptly detect violations in order to prevent them in time. At the same time, it is necessary to thoroughly handle inefficient and seriously loss-making enterprises so that they do not become debtors to the economy; clarify who is responsible and handle them openly and transparently.
