Proactively linking information and orienting public opinion

Innovation and initiative in oral communication

In 2019, besides opportunities and advantages, there also appeared difficulties, challenges, many complex and sensitive factors of the world and the country, affecting all areas of social life in general and ideological work in particular, especially awareness, emotions, psychology and anxiety among the people.

In that context, ideological work in general, oral propaganda work, and reporter activities from the Central to local levels in particular have been innovated, proactively and actively propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, as well as providing and orienting timely information on issues of public concern, contributing to strengthening the bond between the Party and the people, ideological unity within the Party, and consensus in society.

On the other hand, the awareness of Party committees and authorities about the role of the Party's oral propaganda work in which propaganda cadres and reporters and propagandists at all levels play a core role has been raised, thereby paying attention, supporting and creating conditions for reporters and propagandists to operate more effectively.

Accordingly, the quality of reporters' conferences at all levels is focused on improving based on selecting key information; providing necessary documents and investing in facilities and working equipment to serve oral propaganda work and reporter activities.

In 2019, the Propaganda Department at all levels organized a competition for excellent reporters, moving towards organizing a national final competition on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 2020). Through the competition, it contributes to fostering the most practical skills and experiences, clearly defining responsibilities in carrying out political tasks assigned by the Party; at the same time, honoring the team of reporters.

Proactively link information between industries

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Manh Hung - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized the challenges in the 4.0 industrial era and the information explosion with many modern, fast, multi-dimensional media; however, no matter how strongly technology develops, it cannot replace people and oral propaganda work, the reporter's activities have their own strengths with high interaction between the communicator and the receiver of information, which is also the feelings and emotions of the communicator. Therefore, this work needs to continue to be focused on promoting and increasing its effectiveness and spread.

To do so, according to the Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, in the coming time, it is necessary to continue raising awareness among Party committees, authorities at all levels and sectors about the role of oral propaganda work as well as the activities of reporters and propagandists, thereby creating conditions and promoting this force.

On the other hand, oral propaganda work needs to strengthen coordination among forces, sectors, and levels; associated with building a team of reporters for the entire political system such as the Fatherland Front, women's organizations, veterans, youth unions, trade unions, etc.

The Propaganda Department and the team of reporters at all levels need to develop a work program, clearly define specific content, proactively link information between sectors on each specific issue, respond to improve the quality of information and propaganda, especially promptly orient issues of public concern at each time such as African swine fever; change textbooks, increase electricity prices...

The Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department also oriented a number of key propaganda tasks in the first months of the year; focusing on propagating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; propagating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in 2020; propagating Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 13th National Party Congress; propagating the implementation of the 2020 theme on "Strengthening the great national unity bloc, building a clean and strong Party and political system according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".
