At the meeting, the Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Dangerous Human Diseases announced the Decision to consolidate the Steering Committee with 21 members; announced the Steering Committee's operating regulations with specific responsibilities assigned to each member. The Department of Health was assigned as the standing agency of the Steering Committee.
According to the report of the Department of Health, thanks to good disease prevention work and careful preparation of localities and units, in the first 7 months of 2013, there were no outbreaks of disease in the province. However, there were 03 cases of dengue fever; 07 deaths due to rabies; 31,568 cases of influenza syndrome; 9,979 cases of diarrhea and some cases of mumps, chickenpox, dysentery, and other viral encephalitis.

Concluding the meeting, Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested members of the steering committee, sectors and localities to continue to attach importance to the work of preventing and controlling epidemics, especially during the rainy and stormy season. She noted: Members of the provincial steering committee should further strengthen the leadership and direction of districts, cities and towns in epidemic prevention and control; integrate epidemic prevention and control into the socio-economic development tasks of the locality; Do a good job of inspecting and monitoring epidemics right from the livestock raising stage to the time of slaughtering and consumption; Improve the quality of propaganda work on epidemics according to key topics, so that people are not subjective or panicked; Proactively develop plans to suppress outbreaks when they occur, especially during the rainy and stormy season, the transition season, etc.
