(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 31, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department held a national conference to review foreign information work; propaganda on seas, islands, border demarcation and marker planting in 2014 and deploy tasks for 2015.
Comrade Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work attended and directed the conference; Also attending were representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments, and branches, leaders of provinces and centrally-run cities, representatives of central and local press agencies.

In 2014, the work of foreign information; propaganda on seas, islands and demarcation and marker planting was deployed and implemented effectively. According to the assessment of the Central Propaganda Department, information on the situation of the country, on the policies, guidelines and viewpoints of our Party was conveyed to the people of other countries and overseas Vietnamese in a timely manner, through many channels and in many different languages, contributing to creating favorable public opinion for socio-economic development, maintaining political stability, firmly protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity, and enhancing the country's position in the region and the world.
In particular, in 2014, when China illegally deployed the Haiyang Shiyou 981 drilling rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, ministries, sectors, localities, press and propaganda forces across the country overcame difficulties, continued to promote, innovate and improve the effectiveness of foreign information activities; propaganda on seas, islands and demarcation, and marker planting, and achieved important results.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Dinh The Huynh clearly stated the need to proactively inform and propagate in a timely manner so that cadres, party members, people of all walks of life, the overseas Vietnamese community and the international community fully understand the policies, viewpoints and guidelines of our Party and State, especially Vietnam's just stance in resolving the East Sea issue.
