(Baonghean.vn) - The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued Official Dispatch No. 118/VP-PCTT on proactively responding to heavy rain, landslides, flash floods, and localized flooding in the province.
Accordingly, in the past 5 days, in some localities in Nghe An province, there have beenheavy rain, rainfall measured in mountainous areas such as Ky Son (122mm), Tuong Duong (90mm); Quy Chau (98mm); Quy Hop (88mm)... At the same time, the large amount of water from Laos caused subsidence, landslides, traffic landslides, damage to houses, people's property and infrastructure works.
To proactively respond to heavy rain,landslide, flash floods, local flooding, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Disaster Prevention requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Disaster Prevention of districts, cities, towns and related agencies and units to implement a number of contents including:
Mobilize forces and means to urgently support people to overcome damage to housing and agricultural production; quickly repair landslide-affected traffic routes.
Closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and promptly inform authorities and people to proactively prevent and minimize damage.
Check and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people in areas at high risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides.
Organize forces to control and guide traffic, put up warning signs, especially at culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, and fast-flowing water; proactively arrange forces, materials, and means to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic routes.
Direct specialized agencies to coordinate with media agencies, especially grassroots information systems, to strengthen propaganda activities, disseminate instructions on skills to respond to heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides and localized inundation so that people know, proactively prevent, avoid and minimize damage.
Organize the on-duty team seriously, regularly synthesize and report the situation of natural disasters and damage to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention./.
