Groom-to-be was hacked to death before his wedding day.
Seeing a group of young men with machetes rushing into the shop to slash people, Tung tried to stop them but was slashed to death.
On May 14, relatives held a funeral for Tang Nguyen Thanh Tung (25 years old, residing in Lac Tanh town, Tanh Linh district, Binh Thuan). He was stabbed to death before his wedding in his hometown.
According to initial information, at 11pm on May 12, Tung and his friends were drinking beer at a pub in Duc Thuan commune (Tanh Linh district). There, seeing a group of 3 young men with machetes rushing in to kill someone in the pub, Tung stood up to stop them.

The 25-year-old man tried to warn the group of violent men but was attacked in return. He threw a beer bottle back and ran away, but the group of men with machetes chased him and slashed him multiple times, causing him to collapse on the spot.
People nearby took Tung to Tanh Linh District Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to serious injuries, the victim was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for further treatment. By noon on May 13, the 25-year-old man died.
The victim's relatives said that according to plan, Tung would hold a wedding in his hometown on May 15.
Tanh Linh district police and professional units are investigating.
