People dedicated to preserving ancient Thai script in Nghe An

Preserving the Thai script is an important task to preserve the cultural and historical identity of the Thai people in Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular. In recent years, through teaching classes, the Thai script has been widely disseminated in the mountainous communes of Nghe An province.

Thai script in Nghe An, the thunder welcoming ceremony of the O Du people and the art of sacrificial drums in Yen Thanh are recognized as national intangible cultural heritage.

Recently, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a Decision on announcing the list of national intangible cultural heritages. Nghe An has 3 more heritages included in this list.
The Keeper of the Thai Language Lai Pao

In Xieng Lip village, Yen Hoa commune, Tuong Duong district, there is a special class where Thai people go to learn to read and write their ethnic language. That is the Lai Pao Thai language class of artisan Vi Kham Mun.
