Cuban President: Cuba-Vietnam relations are always special

Speaking here, President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Mario Díaz Canel expressed his joy to visit Vietnam for the second time, a country that all Cuban people greatly admire.
President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel said that he was born and raised hearing about the brave struggles of the Vietnamese people - a heroic symbol.
The Cuban people always respect Vietnam, a loyal and friendly friend, and learn from Vietnam many valuable experiences in building and developing the country.
President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel happily said that the two sides had a very effective meeting, in an atmosphere of solidarity, friendship, and brotherhood, like the good relationship between Cuba and Vietnam.
President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel affirmed the special historical nature of Cuba-Vietnam relations, based on political trust between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries; he hoped that the two sides would continue to share experiences in building socialism in each country.
President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel hopes that the agreements reached between the two countries will be implemented through specific cooperation projects, bringing practical results to both sides; affirming that the current and future generations of Cuba and Vietnam will always be loyal to the ideology of President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro and will protect that ideology, promoting friendship between the two peoples.
President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel appreciated the close cooperation between the two countries in international and multilateral forums; and thanked Vietnam for always supporting the Cuban people in the struggle to lift the embargo.

Creating more momentum to bring Vietnam-Cuba relations to new heights
Speaking to a large number of domestic and foreign reporters, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong also said that the two sides discussed many issues, reached profound common perceptions and agreed on many practical measures to continue expanding and further enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the bilateral political relations between the two countries are increasingly good with high trust, demonstrated through regular delegation exchanges at all levels, through all channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly as well as people-to-people exchanges. Intergovernmental and inter-ministerial cooperation mechanisms are maintained, operating in increasingly diverse and practical ways.
The two sides pledged to continue close and comprehensive cooperation on the path of construction and development of each country in the new period; strive to consolidate and further deepen the exemplary brotherhood, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and loyal solidarity.
The two sides also discussed many measures to deepen economic, trade and investment cooperation in the spirit of efficiency and practicality; closely cooperate in defense, security and foreign affairs; promote specialized cooperation in agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, science and technology and people-to-people exchange.
The two sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern; shared stances in support of resolving sovereignty disputes by peaceful means on the basis of respect for international law.
Vietnam and Cuba affirmed that they will strengthen cooperation at international organizations and multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the East Asia-Latin America Forum, etc.
General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong firmly believes that the successful results of President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel's official visit to Vietnam this time will create more momentum to bring the special traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cuba to a new height, meeting the aspirations and interests of the people of each country, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
On the same morning, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong presented the Ho Chi Minh Order - a noble award of the Party and State of Vietnam - to President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Mario Díaz Canel Bermúdez, for his great and outstanding contributions in cultivating and developing the solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
Speaking here, President Miguel Mario Díaz Canel Bermúdez expressed his honor to receive the noble award from the Party and State of Vietnam; emphasizing that the Cuba-Vietnam friendship has always been very special, formed on the basis of brotherly affection, mutual cooperation and support, nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro.
The two countries have always stood side by side in the most difficult times. The Cuban and Vietnamese people have overcome many difficulties and challenges and achieved many victories in the cause of building and defending each country's Fatherland.
Each country, with its own characteristics, has chosen to follow the path of socialism. The people of the two countries always believe in and will forever preserve and protect the values of the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries./.
