Chairman of the Russian Duma meets with the President of China

As part of his three-day official visit to China from May 26-28, on May 27, Chairman of the State Duma (Lower House) of Russia Sergey Nasyskin met with President of the host country Xi Jinping.

At the meeting, President Xi Jinping said that the China-Russia relationship is unique and of high level in that the two sides firmly support each other comprehensively on a number of core interests and essential concerns.

One is to demonstrate mutual core interests such as sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and development. Two is to demonstrate mutual understanding in times of serious difficulty, such as when one side suffers a natural disaster. Three is to demonstrate mutual understanding in resolving important international and regional issues.

Xi Jinping stressed that in the new historical era, he hopes that both sides will support each other more strongly based on the development and changes of the situation.

Mr. Xi Jinping also said that the high level of political trust between China and Russia has laid a good foundation for promoting substantive cooperation in various fields between the two countries.

In March this year, he made an official visit to Russia, reaching a series of important common understandings and agreements with Russian leaders.

Expanding comprehensive cooperation between China and Russia in various fields in line with the trend of the times is the need for common development of both countries and meets the expectations of the people of both countries.

For his part, Chairman of the State Duma Nasyskin said that Russia-China relations are currently developing well. Regardless of regional or international issues, Russia considers China its most important and reliable cooperation partner.

Russia wishes to strengthen substantive cooperation in all fields with China, closely coordinate in multilateral organizations, and make efforts to maintain good and sustainable Russia-China relations./.
