Speaking at the opening of the session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Xuan Son assessed: In 2017, besides the advantages, we also faced many difficulties and challenges. The issues considered, discussed and decided at this session are extremely important; the session content is very large, time is limited.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested that each Provincial People's Council delegate uphold the sense of responsibility before voters, work urgently, participate fully in the meeting, promote intelligence, focus on research, discuss democratically, actively question so that the competent agencies can answer and clarify issues that voters and people are interested in, and contribute many opinions.
At this session, the Provincial People's Council will discuss and review the implementation of the Resolution on socio-economic tasks in 2016, and decide on tasks for 2017. Listen to and comment on reports from the Standing Committee and Committees of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Procuracy, the Court and the Provincial Civil Judgment Enforcement Department on the results of activities in 2016 and tasks for 2017. Report of the Provincial People's Committee on the results of handling voters' opinions and recommendations sent to the 2nd session of the 17th Provincial People's Council; report of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee on activities participating in government building and opinions and recommendations of local people. Listen to the Provincial National Assembly Delegation report on the results of the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly and many other contents according to regulations. The session will take time to conduct questioning and listen to heads of relevant agencies answer questions on emerging issues that are of interest to provincial People's Council delegates and voters. Also at this session, the Provincial People's Council will review the reports of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; discuss and approve 34 draft resolutions on mechanisms and policies for socio-economic development of the province and a number of other important contents, aiming to promote socio-economic development, maintain national defense and security; and consolidate and build a strong government in the province. |
Thereby, the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council passed at this session is highly feasible, effectively promoting the potential and advantages of the province; limiting shortcomings and weaknesses, promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Nghe An province until 2020, meeting the expectations of voters and people of the province.
"We request that leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities invited to attend the meeting ensure time and actively contribute to the implementation of the meeting's agenda," Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son emphasized.
