In competition, referees in combat sports, especially martial arts, play an important role. The referee's decision directly reflects the victory or defeat of the athletes right on the arena. At the same time, if a country has a referee participating in the regulation of that sport at the Games, their position will be more or less respected. That is why referees in combat martial arts are said to be able to influence up to 50% of an athlete's chance of winning.
