Nghe An Provincial People's Council has questioned the construction of a cultural environment associated with the construction, completion and promotion of Nghe An people's identity; and the development of cultural industry in the province.

On the morning of December 6, the 25th Session of the 18th Nghe An Provincial People's Council held a question and answer session.
Leaders of Nghe An province attending the meeting included comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Thong - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delegate of the Provincial People's Council; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

Regarding this content, Mr. Cao Tien Trung - Standing Member, Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the delegation of Tuong Duong district said: In order for Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs to truly spread and last forever, at the recent 10th Anniversary Ceremony of being recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the provincial leaders directed the development of Vi and Giam folk songs to become a typical tourism product of Nghe An, investing in building a brand for Vi and Giam and a local tourism brand associated with Vi and Giam.

"I would like to ask the Department Director to let us know what actions the industry will take in the coming time to implement the above directive and possibly introduce some destinations for tourists to learn and enjoy Vi and Giam folk songs," he said.
Assessing this question as very topical, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An said that the Department has advised the province on many solutions to preserve and promote the value of Vi and Giam folk songs. Currently, in the province, Vi and Giam folk song spaces have been formed such as in Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan), Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh city).

The province has strengthened propaganda and developed methodical communication strategies; at the same time, the Department of Staff and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee have approved the Project on Protecting and Promoting the Value of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Heritage to submit to the Prime Minister for approval.
The Project has many solutions to preserve and promote, especially the completion of the Vi and Giam Folk Song Theater at 77 Nguyen Du Street, Vinh City. After completion, the "Vi and Giam Sound" show will be held daily at the theater to serve tourists.
This project also sets out the task of building performance spaces in the following locations: Vinh City, Cua Lo Beach, Kim Lien Commune, and Nghe An Museum.

“There is a very important solution that the industry is aiming for, which is to experiment with new creations” about Vi and Giam folk songs; bringing Vi and Giam closer to young people,” said Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, adding that the solution is to continue turning Vi and Giam into a unique tourism product of Nghe An province through connecting tours and tourist routes, such as forming Vi and Giam spaces along the Lam River to serve tourists.
At the question and answer session, delegates expressed concern about solutions not only for Vi and Giam folk songs but also to promote the identity of Nghe people, relics and famous landscapes to develop the cultural industry.

Regarding this content, delegate Le Thi Kim Chung - Quynh Luu district delegation said that Nghe An has many ranked relics and scenic spots. However, in reality, not many people know about them. The relics are mainly used to organize festivals and celebrations; and the promotion has not really been up to the mark.
Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi My Hanh affirmed that Nghe An is a province with potential for cultural tourism with 492 ranked relics, including 6 national special relics, 145 national relics and 341 provincial relics.
Although many things have been done, according to the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports, the development of heritage economy and cultural tourism in recent times has not been commensurate with its potential.
“Cultural industry is bringing businesses in to do culture and create profit value. Although there is potential, Nghe An market is still limited, businesses are not interested in developing cultural tourism in Nghe An,” she stated the current situation.
In the coming time, the Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An said: The industry will advise on bringing the public-private partnership (PPP) mechanism into the development of cultural tourism such as: the Light Museum Project in Ho Chi Minh Square, projects at the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site...; at the same time, complete the construction and promote the effectiveness of the Folk Song Theater; connect tours and tourist routes; implement the most methodical communication strategies.
Regarding this content, under the chairman's direction, Director of Nghe An Department of Tourism Nguyen Manh Cuong spoke to clarify further.
