President praises young people for good economic performance

These are dynamic young people, contributing to enriching their homeland and creating jobs for local workers.

On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Youth Union, on the afternoon of October 15, at the Presidential Palace, President Truong Tan Sang had a cordial meeting with 56 delegates of the Youth Union and Youth Group leaders who are outstanding economic leaders nationwide. At the meeting, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Phuoc Loc reported on some activities of the movement "Youth establish a career, start a business, and get rich legitimately".

Representatives of some young people also shared their experiences in doing good business and recommended to the Party and the State that they need to have some specific policies to remove difficulties, especially in infrastructure, and create favorable conditions for capital and output for products of youth businesses to further promote the efficiency of businesses, contributing to job creation and the overall development of the locality and the country.

Listening to the confidences of the typical youth representatives, President Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the efforts to overcome difficulties to become good economic performers. The President emphasized the great role of the youth in the past struggle for independence as well as in building and defending the Fatherland today, the success after 25 years of renovation to turn the country into a middle-income country with the contribution of the youth.

“In the process of national revival and construction, although we are still poor and have many weaknesses compared to many countries in the world, looking back at 25 and 26 years of renovation, we have the right to be proud of a country that emerged from war. Among those achievements, it can be said that the greatest is the achievement of Vietnamese agriculture that is greatly admired by international friends. Thanks to such development, the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction in Vietnam has exceeded the Millennium Development Goals that we committed to by about 10 years. This is a very worthy pride of generations of Vietnamese youth who have created the results of a very great cause in the work of building and protecting the country in the past as well as building and protecting the country today” – President Truong Tan Sang said.

The President suggested that, with their experiences, outstanding young people need to share their experiences and replicate good models, especially in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas, and seek support from local authorities and organizations to develop the economy.

In the context of the difficult domestic and international economic situation, the President said that the Party and State have had and are having specific policies to remove difficulties, control inflation and continue to implement programs to develop infrastructure, support capital, provide vocational training in rural areas... hoping to create motivation for localities, businesses as well as individuals to develop the economy and reduce poverty./.
