President: "We must be very vigilant against cultural invasion"

On the morning of October 4, the National Conference “Literature and Art in Building Vietnamese Personality” organized by the Council of Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art in Ho Chi Minh City closed. President Truong Tan Sang attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, President Truong Tan Sang said that this conference is a meaningful activity of the literary and artistic community to absorb, continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement Resolution No. 33 of the Party Central Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the country.

The President affirmed that our Party and State always pay attention to the cultural field, considering culture as the foundation of society, both the goal and the driving force for national development. In the period of proactive international integration, culture will contribute to enhancing understanding and expanding multi-faceted cooperation between our country and other countries. In that process, we must be very vigilant against cultural invasion. These so-called cultural invasion products are naturally transmitted by our own media.

President Truong Tan Sang emphasized: The Party, the State and our people expect artists to create more and more works that vividly and deeply reflect the cause of our people in the resistance wars against invaders as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today. The works need to praise and encourage positive factors in society, typical figures of the era, the right, the good and the beautiful in the relationship between people and people, people and nature. Literary and artistic works also criticize bad habits and condemn evil and baseness. All aim at and enhance the values ​​of truth, goodness and beauty.
