Arriving in Russia to attend the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that the victory of the Soviet people in the war to defend their country opened the way to liberate oppressed peoples around the world, encouraging people of all countries, including the Vietnamese people, to rise up against the oppression of colonialism and militarist fascism to regain independence and freedom for the nation.
The Great Patriotic War of the Soviet people made great contributions to world peace.
With the moral of "When drinking water, remember its source," the Vietnamese people always remember the great sacrifices that the Soviet people, including the Russian people, have undergone. History needs to be respected and honestly conveyed to future generations. 70 years have passed, but the historical lessons of the war against fascism still retain their value.
