President attends Spring Homeland 2015 activities with overseas Vietnamese
The President and overseas Vietnamese offered incense to the Hung Kings and President Ho Chi Minh and released carp according to traditional national customs.
Within the framework of the Homeland Spring 2015 program organized by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for overseas Vietnamese returning to their homeland to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation, on the afternoon of February 8, President Truong Tan Sang and many overseas Vietnamese participated in many meaningful activities.

It has become a tradition that every time Tet comes, the Homeland Spring program becomes a meeting place for overseas Vietnamese from all over the world to return to Vietnam to celebrate Tet, to enjoy a warm spring, and to reunite according to the traditional Tet customs of the nation.
Homeland Spring 2015 held in Ho Chi Minh City is a very meaningful event celebrating the 40th anniversary of national reunification.
President Truong Tan Sang and many overseas Vietnamese came to offer incense at the Hung Kings Memorial Temple in the National Historical and Cultural Park. This is a sacred place where Southern people pay respect to their ancestors, educate about traditions and inspire patriotism and national pride.
The President and overseas Vietnamese also came to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the nation and world cultural celebrity at Ben Nha Rong.
The President and overseas Vietnamese released fish into Tau Hu canal according to the traditional custom of the nation, praying for national peace and prosperity, and for the country to move steadily on the path of integration and development.

Expressing her emotions when participating in meaningful activities, Ms. Duong Thi Kim Dung - an overseas Vietnamese in the US shared her pride and happiness when returning to celebrate Tet in her homeland and witnessing the country's development achievements.
"I am back from the US. I am honored to participate in today's event, with pride as a Vietnamese people. We are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese people... Whether abroad or at home, my heart is always with Vietnam," said Ms. Dung.
At 8:00 p.m. on February 8, at the historical site of Ben Nha Rong, the President, representatives of the Party and State leaders, leaders of central and local ministries and branches, and about 1,000 overseas Vietnamese will participate in a special art exchange program with the theme "Spring in the homeland 2015 - Glorious Fatherland".
The program features performances by famous domestic and foreign artists, promising to bring a joyful, warm, and exciting atmosphere to welcome spring and the new development stage of the country.
