(Baonghean.vn) -On May 3, President Truong Tan Sang sent a letter of condolences and encouragement to the family of Nguyen Van Nam, who bravely sacrificed himself to save five children from drowning.

Letter of inquiry and encouragement to the family of Nguyen Van Nam, a 12th grade student at Do Luong 1 High School, living in Trung Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province.

Through the mass media and reports of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, I learned that on the afternoon of April 30, 2013, at the Cung ferry terminal, Trung Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, Nguyen Van Nam, a 12T7 student at Do Luong 1 High School, bravely saved 5 children from drowning and died himself.

I am deeply moved by the brave act of Nguyen Van Nam to save people. He is a shining example for young people across the country to learn from.

With deep regret, I would like to send my condolences to Nguyen Van Nam's family. I hope his parents and relatives will overcome this painful loss and forever be proud of him - a compassionate son who sacrificed himself to save others.
