At the meeting between President Truong Tan Sang and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Premier Li Keqiang warmly welcomed President Truong Tan Sang and the Vietnamese State delegation to visit China; emphasizing that the visit is of great significance, contributing to promoting the further development of relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Li Keqiang highly appreciated the results of the talks between President Truong Tan Sang and Chinese President Xi Jinping, affirming that the Chinese Government will coordinate with the Vietnamese Government to effectively implement the agreements reached during the visit.

President Truong Tan Sang congratulated Premier Li Keqiang on his election as Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China; and conveyed the regards of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Vietnamese leaders to Premier Li Keqiang.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed major orientations as well as specific measures to further enhance political trust through promoting cooperation and friendly exchanges between the two sides at all levels, sectors, localities and mass organizations of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to promote mutually beneficial cooperation, bringing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to a new, more effective and sustainable stage, and continuously enriching the content of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

The two sides agreed to coordinate to effectively implement the “5-year development plan for Vietnam-China economic and trade cooperation in the 2012-2016 period,” further promote cooperation in areas such as agriculture, transportation, manufacturing and supporting industries, and strengthen cooperation in building infrastructure connecting the two countries, focusing initially on major projects such as the Pingxiang-Hanoi-Hai Phong road connection project and the Hanoi-Lao Cai-Hai Phong high-speed railway.

The two sides also agreed to actively apply effective measures to promote balanced, healthy and sustainable growth of bilateral trade, in line with the interests of both sides, and strive to achieve ahead of schedule the target of raising bilateral trade turnover to 60 billion USD by 2015.

President Truong Tan Sang proposed that China create favorable conditions for Vietnamese exports to China, such as considering and signing long-term government contracts for a number of essential products that China needs to import from Vietnam, and creating favorable conditions for the import of Vietnamese goods, especially those in which Vietnam has strengths such as agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, and seafood.

Vietnam welcomes Chinese investment in the fields of infrastructure construction, transportation, manufacturing, supporting industries, especially large investment projects with advanced modern technology.

The two sides emphasized that relevant ministries and sectors of the two countries need to strengthen and improve cooperation mechanisms, sign new ones or amend and supplement existing agreements to create more favorable conditions for expanding the scale of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Regarding maritime issues, the two sides agreed to maintain contact, dialogue, and properly handle emerging issues through peaceful measures, in accordance with the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders, international law, and the agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of Vietnam-China maritime issues. At the same time, they requested that ministries and branches of both sides promptly implement the Agreement on establishing a hotline for unexpected incidents in fishing activities at sea, in accordance with the friendly relations between the two countries.

On this occasion, President Truong Tan Sang, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, respectfully invited Premier Li Keqiang to soon pay an official visit to Vietnam. Premier Li Keqiang happily accepted the invitation to visit Vietnam at a time convenient for both sides.

On the same afternoon, President Truong Tan Sang met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China (Chairman of the National Assembly) Zhang Dejiang.

President Truong Tan Sang congratulated comrade Truong Duc Giang on being elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th National People's Congress of China; conveyed the regards of the Vietnamese leaders and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung to comrade Truong Duc Giang.
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhang Dejiang highly appreciated the significance of President Truong Tan Sang's state visit to China, saying that the visit will create new momentum to further consolidate and develop the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Comrade Truong Duc Giang was pleased to see that over the past years, the cooperation and exchanges between the National Assembly and the National Assembly Committees of the two countries have achieved many encouraging results, playing an important role in promoting political trust between the two Parties and the two countries.

The two sides agreed that in the coming time, the two countries' National Assemblies will continue to promote high-level contacts and exchange of working delegations between the committees of the Vietnamese and Chinese National Assemblies; enhance exchanges and experience sharing in legislative work; supervise, urge and promote the two countries' Governments to actively implement the agreements signed between the two countries, especially the Action Program on implementing the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The two countries need to further promote existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, promote balanced and sustainable development of trade relations; further promote investment cooperation, and at the same time strengthen and perfect cooperation mechanisms to promote the expansion of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides highly appreciated the role of the Vietnam-China Friendship Parliamentary Group and the China-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group in promoting cooperation and friendship between the two nations and peoples. The two sides wished to strengthen coordination between the two National Assemblies within the framework of regional and international parliamentary organizations; and coordinate in ensuring the effectiveness and high implementation of international treaties to which both sides are parties.

The two sides agreed that the leaders of the two countries maintain regular exchanges and dialogues on maritime issues between Vietnam and China, and satisfactorily resolve newly arising issues by peaceful means on the basis of international law and the Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues between Vietnam and China.

On this occasion, President Truong Tan Sang conveyed the invitation of the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung to Comrade Truong Duc Giang to pay an official visit to Vietnam at a convenient time. Comrade Truong Duc Giang happily accepted the invitation.

Also on June 20, President Truong Tan Sang and the Vietnamese delegation visited the Beijing Urban Planning Center. The President listened to the Center's leaders introduce the history of formation and development of Beijing, especially the development period after 2008.

According to experts, by seizing the opportunity and taking advantage of the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympic Games, the socio-economic situation of the capital Beijing has developed rapidly, many problems in the development process have been solved, opening up new spaces and new conditions for long-term development. In addition to its administrative function of participating in urban planning, the Beijing Capital Urban Planning Center is also a tourist destination attracting 3 million visitors and about 90 delegations of leaders from various countries to visit.

Next, at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, President Truong Tan Sang spent time receiving leaders of the Zhongxing Group (ZTE) and the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC).

During the visit to China by President Truong Tan Sang, on June 20, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The two sides discussed measures to implement the common perceptions of the two countries' senior leaders in further deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. The two sides also discussed measures to enhance exchanges between the two countries' foreign ministries in the coming time as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

On the same day, leaders of the Ministries of Public Security, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Transport also had meetings with their Chinese counterparts./.
