(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the working program in Nghe An, on the afternoon of March 23, Comrade Truong Tan Sang - Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the working delegation visited and worked at Nghi Lien commune (Vinh city) and Military Region 4 Command.

Also attending were comrades: Dao Viet Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Office of the President; Nguyen The Ky - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Pham Manh Hung - Deputy Minister of Education and Training.

On the provincial side, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

In Nghi Lien commune (Vinh city), President Truong Tan Sang visited and presented gifts to two typical farmer families in the new rural construction movement. Mr. Nguyen Van Chuong in hamlet 7 - Disabled soldier ¼ - voluntarily donated 100m²land for rural roads and Mrs. Le Thi Vinh in hamlet 4 - a typical good economic performer of Nghi Lien commune. The President also surveyed the situation of new rural construction, visited kindergartens, roads, flower and ornamental plant craft villages, and high-income field models of Nghi Lien commune.

From a commune of Nghi Loc district, after more than 5 years of merging into Vinh city, Nghi Lien has had encouraging developments. Implementing the National Program on New Rural Construction, the locality has achieved 18 criteria and is striving to reach the finish line by the end of 2014. The New Rural Construction Program has contributed to promoting local economic growth, increasing people's income, and reducing the poverty rate in the whole commune to 2%.

Speaking to the officials and people of Nghi Lien commune, President Truong Tan Sang highly appreciated the results Nghi Lien commune had achieved. During that process, many families donated thousands of m²land to pave the way and actively join hands to develop flower and ornamental plant cooperatives. These achievements demonstrate the high consensus of the people with the policies of the Party and the State. The President hopes that in the coming time, Nghi Lien will soon complete the targets of building new rural areas and improve those targets, becoming a model commune, contributing with the Party Committee and people of Nghe An to develop the socio-economy into a prosperous province of the country as wished by beloved Uncle Ho.

On this occasion, the President presented 10 gifts to 10 typical households in the new rural construction movement of Nghi Lien commune.

President Truong Tan Sang and his delegation also visited Nam Cam Industrial Park to survey the project “Construction of infrastructure for Nghe An urban industrial - service park of 1,000 hectares” invested by Becamex Binh Duong Company in Nghe An, with a total investment of nearly 5,000 billion VND. This is a project of special interest, promising to create a breakthrough, contributing to Nghe An's stable industrial development.

Also on the afternoon of March 23, President Truong Tan Sang visited and worked with the Party Committee - Command of Military Region 4. After listening to a summary report on the work situation in 2013 and some key tasks in 2014 of the Military Region Command, President Truong Tan Sang praised the efforts of officers and soldiers of the entire force in implementing the staff, closely coordinating with the provinces to firmly consolidate national defense and security; maintain social order and safety, and promote socio-economic development.

President Truong Tan Sang requested the Party Committee - Military Region Command to continue to focus on thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the Party's resolutions and directives on military and defense tasks; Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (11th tenure) on the Homeland Protection Strategy in the new situation; strictly maintain combat readiness; effectively handle situations occurring in the area; coordinate with functional forces to effectively carry out defense diplomacy; be ready with forces and mobile means to participate in preventing and helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters and fires. To complete the assigned tasks, the armed forces of Military Region 4 need to promote the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party committees, Party organizations, and cadres at all levels, and coordinate well in mobilizing the masses to build a solid all-people defense zone.
