On May 27, at the Hanoi Opera House, the State Prize for Literature and Arts and the Meritorious Artist title were awarded by the State Award Council and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

President Truong Tan Sang attended the ceremony and personally presented the award to each author and artist.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Truong Tan Sang stated that recently, artists across the country were delighted to receive the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts and the title of People's Artist awarded by the Party and State to outstanding works and artists who have made great contributions to the country. That joy was multiplied when more works and artists were awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts and the title of Meritorious Artist.

The President affirmed that the Party, State and people are delighted with the growth of the artists. The country has more and more excellent literary and artistic works, many talented and dedicated artists who are committed to the revolutionary cause of the Party and people of Vietnam.

On behalf of the Party and State, congratulating and sharing joy with the artists who received awards and titles, the President said that during the arduous years of fighting for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, literature and art have made great contributions, fulfilling their glorious mission.

Today, in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, literature and art continue to play an important role, contributing to inspiring and promoting the strength of the entire nation, preserving and developing culture, and building the personality of the Vietnamese people in the new period.

The President hopes and believes that today's Vietnamese artists, especially the young generation, will definitely inherit and promote the national tradition and achievements of revolutionary literature and art, creating more and more works of ideological and artistic value, worthy of the great achievements of our people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, meeting the requirements and expectations of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

During the third State Prize for Literature and Arts and the seventh Meritorious Artist Award, 128 works, groups of works, projects, and groups of projects were awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts, and 356 artists were awarded the Meritorious Artist title.

The process of selecting authors and works is carried out objectively, accurately, and in accordance with procedures from the grassroots to the central level, demonstrating the recognition and honor of the Party, State and People for artists, literature and art./.
