At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, on the afternoon of September 6, Hanoi time, President Truong Tan Sang and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Vladivostok, Russia, to begin attending the APEC 2012 Summit from September 6-9 and participating in a number of activities in the Far East region of the Russian Federation. Welcoming President Truong Tan Sang and the Vietnamese delegation at Könevichi airport were leaders of Primorsky Krai province, leaders of the Russian Federation Protocol Department, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang who are attending APEC week activities; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Pham Xuan Son, along with staff of the Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese Community in Vladivostok.
The President expressed his pleasure to attend APEC 2012 in Vladivostok, the largest multilateral conference in the Asia-Pacific region. The Vietnamese delegation attended APEC 20 with Vietnam's position in international and regional forums, including APEC, constantly being enhanced.

President Truong Tan Sang met and talked with staff of the Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese community living and studying in the country.
Listening to the aspirations of overseas Vietnamese, the President highly appreciated the contributions in various fields of the Consulate staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community.
The President suggested that people, especially businesses, need to learn carefully about the development policies of the neighboring country, including the Far East region and especially Vietnam and Russia will start negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan) on this occasion. This is a good condition for people to expand their investment and business as well as invest together with domestic enterprises in this land of great potential.
The President suggested that the Vietnamese community should strictly abide by the laws of the host country, strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries, and at the same time unite to help each other in life and always look towards the homeland./.
