National Assembly Chairman leaves for official visit to Singapore and Australia

On the morning of November 26, at the invitation of the Australian Parliament, Government and Singaporean Parliament, a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan left Hanoi for an official visit to Singapore and Australia from November 26 to December 2.

Participating in the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly were members of the Party Central Committee and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee: Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Nguyen Van Giau; Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc; Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee Nguyen Khac Dinh.

Members of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap Province Le Minh Hoan; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ngai Province Le Viet Chu; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ninh Binh Province Nguyen Thi Thanh; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tuyen Quang Province Chau Van Lam; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Duong Province Nguyen Manh Hien.

The official visit to Singapore and Australia by the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is of great significance, aiming to further consolidate the Strategic Partnership with Singapore and promote the enhanced Comprehensive Partnership with Australia, towards upgrading the Vietnam-Australia relationship to a Strategic Partnership in 2018; and to exchange measures to strengthen cooperation between the National Assembly of our country and the legislative bodies of the two countries.

This is the first visit by a Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman to Singapore after 14 years, since the visit of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An in 2003, and to Australia after 9 years, since the visit of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong in 2008./.
