Chimbu Provincial Police Chief Augustine Wampe said he had received a letter from Mr. Sinasina-Yongomugl, one of the candidates running for the position of speaker of parliament this time.

However, Mr Nape denied all the allegations and said his opponents had fabricated the story to smear his reputation. After posting a bail of 2,000 kina (equivalent to 963 AUD), Mr Nape was released on bail but will still have to appear in court after the election.
